The Westlock Modbus Intellis
I/O module, the MPAC, utilizes the Modbus RTU protocol
to serially communicate with a
DCS or PLC via the Westlock NIM (Network Interface Manager). The
Modbus protocol establishes a common format for the
layout and contents of all message
|
|
|
| fields. Operating commands,
sent via Modbus, communicate through
the NIM gateway to up to 1000
control valves connected, on a common data highway. |

The MPAC provides
six discrete inputs and two outputs. Discrete inputs are compatible
with dry contact type switches. The outputs are open drain active
low FETs (activated by pulling the input of the FET to ground) with
diode protection to 32Vdc. |
